Overview

Pricing display settings determine how prices are entered by administrators and how they appear to customers throughout the ticket shop, checkout, and order details. These settings are configured at the company level and affect all sale items across the platform. There are two related but distinct controls:
  • Price input — whether the prices you enter in the admin area include tax or not.
  • Price display — whether prices shown to customers in the shop include tax or not.
These settings are found under Settings > Pricing settings (requires the advanced tax controls feature).

Price Input Settings

The Price input settings control determines how the platform interprets the prices you enter when configuring sale items.
OptionBehaviour
Prices including taxes (default)The price you enter is the total amount the customer pays. Tax is calculated backwards from this total. For example, if you enter £120 with a 20% tax band, the net price is £100 and the tax is £20.
Prices excluding taxesThe price you enter is the net amount before tax. Tax is added on top at checkout. For example, if you enter £100 with a 20% tax band, the customer pays £120.
When using conditional tax bands, prices are always treated as excluding tax, regardless of this setting. This is because the tax rate varies by customer, so it can only be calculated at checkout.

Price Display Settings

The Price display settings control determines how prices are presented to customers across the ticket shop.
OptionBehaviour
Prices including taxes (default)Customers see the total price inclusive of tax. This is the most common setting for consumer-facing sales.
Prices excluding taxesCustomers see the net price, with tax shown separately. This is common in business-to-business (B2B) scenarios.
You cannot display prices excluding tax when all-in pricing is enabled. The system will show: “Cannot display prices excluding tax when the display pricing feature is enabled.”

How the Two Settings Interact

The combination of price input and price display settings determines the full pricing experience:
